On March 21, Auctions at Showplace will hold NYC Asia Week Estate Auction featuring 280 lots of Asian fine and decorative arts, jewelry, furniture, cinnabar boxes, pottery and porcelain, ancient jade ax blades, and lamps, including pieces from the estate of a famous Chinese musician. The upcoming sale will also feature American and European Antique Oil paintings, fine art prints, silver, fashion jewelry, and many more. NYC Asia Week Estate Auction will start at 12 pm EDT. NYC Asia Week Estate Auction will feature an amazing selection of Asian art and design, along with a range of American and European items from private collections. The top lot of the upcoming sale is the oil on panel painting “Musician” by the Italian artist Cesare Auguste Detti. It is estimated at $8,000-12,000. Other notable fine art pieces include Gyula Tornai’s “The Moroccan Bride” (estimated at $5,000-7,000), Pietro Paolini’s landscape painting of an architectural capriccio (estimated at $4,000-6,000), and Philips Wouwerman’s “Men on Horseback” (estimated at $1,500-3,000).
Among other highlights of the sale is a set of three Chinese ink paintings of Luohan from the late Qing dynasty (pictured). It is estimated at $4,000-6,000. The auction will also feature a gorgeous selection of Asian vases, jade blades, porcelain, pottery, sculptures, lacquer boxes, carpets, silk panels, furniture, screens, pots, lamps, and many more. The estimated cost of the items ranges from $200 to $6,000, meaning that there is something for any taste and budget.
